Polish Cultural Institute
The Polish Cultural Institute is associated with the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, dedicated to promoting Polish culture in Britain. The aim of the Polish Cultural Institute is to bring contemporary Polish culture to a wider British audience.
Based in London, published on-line, OFF_Press aims to bring you the latest and best in contemporary creative writing from Poland, in English language translation, and wherever possible in the original. OFF_Press is also involved in printing books and producing films.
The first Polish Arts Festival is developed and produced by Hungry Arts. The aim being to celebrate the very best of Polish culture and art, to develop new international artistic collaborations, and to help nurture the special relationship between Southend-on-Sea and Sopot, Southend`s Polish twin, on the Baltic Sea.
Lanquidity Records is an independent record label. They work on hip hop, jazz, funk and soul music, and are looking to polifirate the classic sound of the 60s and 70s in the contemporary music arena. Their expertise spans from vinyl production to organization of gigs in various London locations.
Hatch Space is an artist run initiative based in the centre of South London. As well as an affordable and supportive studio provision, Hatch will also be running an experimental project space and gallery at it`s centre. The space will be a platform for new interdisciplinary collaborations curated in house as well as accepting proposals from artists and students.
‘Meanwhile use’ is the temporary use of vacant buildings or land for a socially beneficial purpose until such a time that they can be brought back into commercial use again. It makes practical use of the ‘pauses’ in property processes, giving the space over to uses that can contribute to quality of life and better places.
Sopot Fringe Festival
The Firs edition of Polish Fringe Festival will take place at picturesque Sopot town, right on the Baltic Sea Coast on 13 August 2011 and will last 24 hours. The festival team neither select nor programme the festival so anybody can put an event on as a part of our festival of artistic experimentation.
